KING TITUS X AUSTER

December 01, 2016
We've all seen his Instagram. We've all seen his unique tricks,
almost impossible to replicate. We sat down with the man,
myth and legend himself, King Titus talks about
the vape world, advice, a few of his favorite things,
and what vaping means to him.

With a massive following, King Titus is untouchable.

A: Who are you? How would you describe yourself?
KT: I’m me, and that’s hard to describe, honestly. One thing I can easily say
is that I’m passionate, borderline obsessive even. At the end of the day
I wouldn’t be who I am without my obsessive passions, so I’m fine with that.

A: Where did you grow up?
KT: I was born and raised in Houston, Texas.

A: How’d you learn how to make vape clouds?
KT: I was at a point in my life where starting over was the only option.
I needed an outlet of expression and a way to quit smoking, so it worked out well.
Once I started vaping I just couldn’t put it down, and it grew into my obsession
pretty quickly. I needed to be the best, whatever that meant to others I didn’t
really care, it became personal. I guess it worked because these clouds have
opened doors for me that would have been inconceivable just a couple of years ago.
We can call my current state ‘vape cloud 9.’

A: What is the vape industry to you?
KT: This is a three part question. Personally, the vape industry is a way
for me to capitalize on this obsession-turned passion of mine; but it’s also
a community for people who join the same interests to come together.
Most importantly though is that it’s a market: as the industry grows, more
investors will be interested in vaping essentially producing a variety of
higher quality products and market competition benefiting the consumers,
such as myself.

A: Where do you see yourself going in 3-5 years?
KT: I don’t. That’s a dangerous thing from my perspective, because I dream too much.
I can have 10 different ideas about where I’ll be...and they will all
sound great and plausible. I can’t get distracted. I’d much rather just follow
whatever my natural progression is and see where that’ll take me in 3-5 years.
I think more along the lines of: 'This is working right now.
How can I improve today, how can I perfect this, right now, so that tomorrow
I can be better.'

A: What is one place in the world that represents who you are?
KT: Houston, it’s in my blood. These are my people.

A: One piece of advice you would tell your younger self?
KT: Go to college, and learn how to be confident in yourself.
It’ll take you much farther than you can ever imagine.

A: Best advice your mother has given you?
KT: When you do something give it everything you have.

A: Top things on your bucket list?
KT: I’ve always said I’d be a billionaire by age 30. I don’t think
that’s going to pan out for me. So I’d say becoming a millionaire
by age 30, that still seems pretty safe...right?

A: What age would you be forever and why?
KT: 23 -young enough to not have health issues, yet old enough
to think you know better.

A: What is your current mood?
KT: Content.

A: What is an insecurity you have that you’ve come to love?
KT: My laugh sounds like Goofy, the Disney character.

A: One of your proudest moments?
KT: When my daughter was born. It’s was amazing to see that
I had created another human being.

A: You’re having a small dinner party, who do you invite:
anyone in the world, living or deceased?
KT: My family, close friends, and Langston Hughes.

A: Something you will always make time for:
KT: My daughter.

A: Most badass thing you’ve done recently:
KT: Small things are considered badass to me. I think I have a lower
threshold for badassery. I’ve been able to take some pretty amazing trips
to NYC and California, I’ve done a video for the Discovery Channel,
so those are the most badass things I think I’ve done.
But again, badassery is in the eye of the beholder.

A: Breakfast, lunch, dinner - walk us through:
KT: Breakfast: definitely a honeycrisp apple or some fruit
Lunch: Spaghetti
Dinner: Spaghetti (All I  know how to cook is Spaghetti, but I add
different things to it, because I’m super creative like that!)
